What is a final walk-through when buying a home?

A final walk-through is not required, but is highly recommended! A final walk-throughs give buyers a chance to make sure nothing had changed since their last visit (i.e. new water damage, flooding, damage to the home, etc.). If repairs were requested as part of the agreement, this ensures that everything is completed as expected before signing the final paperwork at your closing.
